Using Pyllum Safely

Safety & Medication Storage

Pyllum is designed as a convenient way to store and dispense compatible pills, capsules, vitamins, and supplements. Not every medication or supplement is appropriate for storage outside its original packaging.

Check storage requirements before use

Always review and follow the storage instructions provided with your medication or supplement.

Some products may require:

  • storage in their original container
  • protection from moisture or humidity
  • protection from light or air
  • refrigeration or specific temperature conditions
  • a desiccant or other moisture-control system
  • other special storage conditions

Do not place a medication or supplement in Pyllum if its labeling states that it must remain in its original container or if Pyllum cannot maintain the required storage conditions.

If you are unsure whether a medication or supplement can be transferred into Pyllum, consult a pharmacist, healthcare provider, or the product manufacturer before use.

Keep Pyllum dry and protected

Unless the medication or supplement requires different conditions, store Pyllum in a clean, cool, dry location away from excessive heat, direct sunlight, moisture, and humidity.

Environmental conditions can affect medications and supplements differently.

If the contents show changes in appearance, texture, smell, color, shape, or condition, discontinue use of the affected contents and consult an appropriate professional if necessary.

Pyllum is not child-resistant

Pyllum is not childproof and should not be treated as a substitute for child-resistant medication packaging.

Keep Pyllum and its contents out of the sight and reach of children and anyone for whom the contents are not intended.

Where appropriate, store Pyllum in a locked or otherwise secured location.

Always verify what is dispensed

Pyllum is a mechanical dispenser. Differences in pill size, shape, coating, orientation, manufacturing tolerances, wear, debris, or other conditions can affect dispensing.

A Pyllum may occasionally:

  • fail to dispense a pill
  • dispense more than one pill
  • jam
  • partially dispense a pill
  • otherwise dispense differently than expected

Always visually confirm the identity and quantity of the pill dispensed before taking it.

Never rely on Pyllum alone to determine the correct medication, dose, or timing.

Use the correct pill insert

Pill inserts are designed around specific pill dimensions and characteristics.

A pill that looks similar to another pill may not necessarily be compatible with the same insert.

Changes in manufacturer, strength, formulation, coating, or production batch can also result in changes to pill dimensions.

If a pill no longer dispenses correctly, discontinue use with that insert and contact Pyllum for assistance.

Inspect before use

Do not use Pyllum if the product or pill insert appears:

  • cracked
  • broken
  • excessively worn
  • contaminated
  • obstructed
  • otherwise damaged or unable to operate normally

Keep the dispenser clean and free from debris that could interfere with its operation.

Product compatibility is not medical advice

Pyllum provides product and compatibility information only.

Mechanical compatibility with Pyllum does not mean that storing a particular medication outside its original packaging is medically or pharmaceutically appropriate.

Questions about medication storage, dosage, administration, interactions, effectiveness, or safety should be directed to a pharmacist, healthcare provider, or the medication manufacturer.
